New Eva

I can hardly believe that Eva will be 5 months old this Sunday. Already she's accomplished so much and it seems that she learns so many new things everyday.This is certainly the joy of being a parent- watching a baby discover the world around her. Eva loves to have books read to her and loves to lay on the floor and play with toys that make crinkly sounds and play music. She started eating cereal (and eats it with enthusiasm!) and enjoys chewing on her feet in between meals. She hates it when we even attempt to lay her down preferring to either sit or have someone hold her up to stand. Oh the drool!! Bibs are a requirement now as she is drooling and chewing on EVERYTHING she can put into her mouth. I swear that everyday a new sound or tone comes out of her mouth. It's really amazing!!!! I expected new adventures in development but it's really incredible to watch your own baby grown and learn, as I'm sure all of you parents already know. Here are some recent pictures taken within the past month or so. I'm trying to get better at taking more pictures. Eva doesn't like her picture taken and stares at me blankly when I try so it's difficult to capture her sometimes. She is a morning baby so most of the pictures are in her pj's. Oh well. I'll post more as I take them!! Enjoy!

11 week Old Eva

It's been a LONG time since I've posted. Who has time to post pictures on a blog when you have a gorgeous baby girl to take care of?? This week Eva has been suffering from an eye infection so it has been especially difficult. Poor little girl doesn't want to be put down at all. After eating and 2 loads of laundry it's time to go feed her already. I have so many pictures to post but I'll just post the most recent and post others when I have time again.

We're HOME!!!!

Eva and I arrived in Indiana last Thursday safely. We had a GREAT trip - Eva did and AMAZING job!! Everyone on the plane couldn't believe how well she did and how alert she was the entire 2 1/2 hours on the second plane. I was so proud! Unfortunately for me, she's now off her schedule and not sleeping through the night but through the day. Oh well, this is life with a little one.
can't believe how much she has grown in the past 6 weeks. Her face has changed SO much. She no longer has that newborn look. She's also been smiling at silly sounds and songs and has started to coo -ADORABLE!!!!

New Pictures

Ahhhhh...... parenthood. The last week has been filled with the ups and downs of adapting to our new boss. We are overwhelmed, exhausted, and overflowing with joy and pride. We can't wait to bring her home for everyone to meet!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMMIE!!!!

I am excited to report that I saw the midwife yesterday and there is progress towards meeting our new arrival. BeeGee and I made a deal though- that she'd stay in there at least until Sunday night when Jammie returns from Salt Lake. I've stopped working at the request of our midwife due to severe water retention. You might mistake me for Jabba the Hut at this point. I wish Jammie was around to entertain me but I've found little projects here and there to occupy me on while lounging on the sofa. This morning I took pictures of my swollen, freakishly large appendages. They don't look too bad this morning but still.....See for yourself:

To make matters worse, I opened the door this morning to see this-
this complicates my footwear issue. A bit chilly for flip flops. Seriously, when will the snow end anyway?!?!?

Finally I thought I would add a picture of pregnancy from my point of view. I'm enjoying my large bump as much as I can- it won't be there much longer!!!!!

A few Fridays ago, Jammie and I went to a local bird refuge where thousands and thousands of tundra swan pass through. It was really incredible. A week later, at the peak of the duck migration, over 400,000 ducks stopped at the refuge as well. It's a really neat place. I wish that I had a telescopic lens to capture them a little better. They shy away from the road where I could get a really good picture of them. You'll just have to squint and zoom.

If you click on the picture for a larger picture, you'll see the white things swimming in the background, those are the tundra swans. I forget the bird/duck thing that's in the foreground. Where's Jammie when I need him??

Then we went to National Spike Historical Site where the last spike was placed, connecting the east and the west by rail. It was a quick, been there done that, kinda place but hey- Jammie got his souvenir hat pin.

Finally we went to a place where rockets and the like are made for NASA and the military.


This week Jammie is in Salt Lake City doing military stuff while I sit here and simmer our little one some more in anticipation of the timer going off. (Do I hear a DING??) By the end of this pregnancy I expect to resemble Jabba the Hut. Bring on the swelling!!!
